So, as the dust settles on the Open Competition, and the weather tries to work out what it’s doing.
We are so lucky that we are based @RFP, the open spaces and views make it all worthwhile!

Thursday evening, two of our members – Alex and Shannon, are local Scout Leaders and Archery Instructors, their group came along for a session of Archery with coach Pete and some members along to help too. The Scouts came along with their parents and so there were spectators and much fun and laughter as the Scouts kept Pete on his toes. Balloons to burst and lollies to win all made it a successful evening. As a community club we embrace these evenings to give back to the local community and to encourage Archery as a sports option for people who maybe wouldn’t have thought of it as available to all.

Friday’s session saw a scattering of members, Richie needed to do some practical training on his compound, as he was at Lilleshall on Saturday. Its always fun, friendly and light on Friday nights.

Sunday and the rain is forecast, the weather apps have been foretelling of torrential flooding and thunderstorms. (Electric storms are the definitive NO GO for Archery!). But, as always there are Griffin Archers who are made of sterner stuff than getting wet on the range!

So, the determined few managed some archery this Sunday session. Some came along and spent most of the time in the Bistro drinking coffee and chatting, but still, they made the effort!
And so….Griffin Archers @RFP embrace Archery and everything it entails.
Who knows what next week will bring.
