The Griffin Archers 3rd Open Western Tournament was held on July 13th 2025 at our home in Rockingham Forest Park.
The weather on the day was close to ideal. Warm with a mixture of sun and cloud with a light breeze helping to cool off the archers.
We had 13 bosses in total at various distances with over 30 archers from 10 different clubs. We had great feedback from archers with many looking forward to coming again next year. Griffin archers would like to thank Pete Lindsay, Di and John Searle and the working party who made the tournament run so smoothly.
Thank you also to everyone who helped run the raffle and the refreshments and thanks to all the archers that attended. Hope to see you next year!
Let’s just say that the awards ceremony didn’t quite go as smoothly as the tournament did but it provided amusement for everyone at the end of a hot day.
We are really looking forward to hosting this event again in 2026, and welcoming archers from other clubs to come and shoot with us.
Our sincere hope is that this event becomes a permanent fixture on the archery calendar for many people. Our focus for this tournament, as in previous years, is to provide an entry-level event for both new and established archers. We hope that we provide a relaxed and friendly atmosphere with just the right amount of competitiveness.
